Lots to smile about these days...
But no time to blog! I am going to recommit to writing in the new year. One of my new years resolutions is to make sure I get a few minutes of me time each day... Between my new job and my fabulous toddler, I have little to no me time and it's been hard. Hopefully some of this "me time" will be a moment to write something. I used to love writing and I'd like to get back into it...

Opportunities
Today opportunities made me smile. I found out a little while ago that if I wish to stay in my current building, I will have to take a less than ideal position next year. HOWEVER I found out this week that it may lead to some fabulous opportunities!! Hoping that it all works out and come together. But opportunities made me smile today!

Teacher Appreciation
Have you appreciated your favorite teacher yet this week?? This morning I was appreciated by our photocopier at work. It NEVER works let alone first thing on a Monday morning but I was able to get all copying done with NO jams!! Today being appreciated by the photocopier made me smile!

Thanksgiving Sandwich
Mmmmmm I am smiling right now just thinking about it. Yesterday we went to our favorite little bakery, The Baker's Bench and enjoyed a Thanksgiving sandwich. On freshly baked bread they layer turkey, homemade stuffing, homemade cranberry sauce, and a little mayo. Oops I just drooled on my computer. It is best enjoyed with a can of soda and a tasty pastry for dessert (if you have any room left in your belly)!! Thanksgiving sandwich makes me smile.

Lunch
Today lunch made me smile! G and I lunched with a couple of friends at our favorite Chinese restaurant. As I walked in the owner greeted me by name (I've been going here since I was little!!). We enjoyed a delicious and inexpensive lunch (5.75 for lunch, tea, soup, rice, entree and an appetizer) HOLY FOOD BATMAN! It was enjoyable company, delicious food, and my friends bought lunch!! Today lunch made me smile.

Kind Doctors
My little girl is not feeling well today so we went to the dr's office. Her regular dr was booked for the day so we saw another pediatrician that we saw once before when she had a cold (and I was a complete wreck since she had just begun daycare and I was back to work). When the Dr. came in he immediately asked how her cold had cleared up and I really appreciated that he had checked her file before he came in the room. It was nice that he pretended to remember. I told him we all survived and he told me "the sad thing is though it looks like she's still suffering from cute kid syndrome." Gab and I both rewarded him with smiles! He checked her out, listened to my concerns and sent us on our way. Gab and I both left feeling better and I appreciated his personal touches. While her regular doctor is on maternity leave we will be seeing him. Today a kind doctor made me smile.

Snow In April
Today it snowed. Yes, it is April 17, yes we DID wear shorts less than a week ago but still it snowed. Mother Nature sure is playing a trick on us. Instead of getting down about as it can be so easy to do, we found these daffodills trying to make it through the cold weather. Don't they look beautiful? Today, daffodils in the snow made me smile.
Sleepy Smiles
It's only appropriate that my first post in quite sometime is a picture post...

My Daughter makes me smile many times each day. In fact, I can hear her stirring in her crib right now and I have a huge smile on because as soon as I hit publish I will get to go upstairs and be greeted by the cutest baby I know with a sleepy Saturday morning smile!

After A Long Break...
I've decided to try and work on this project some more. This Blog began as a way for me to look at the brighter side of life. When I began blogging here I was going through a tough time personally- the Dr.'s said they didn't think I'd be able to have children. It was amazing to me how dark and dreary the world became and how cynical I could be upon hearing that. Writing about the little things in life that made me smile helped each and every day. Instead of finding reasons to be upset I was looking for reasons to smile. By nature I am an optimistic person and love putting a smile on other people's faces. SO I have a million reasons to smile now and I want to restart my find the smiles project so my daughter will have a million things to smile about and will know to look for the bright side of things. :-)
