Lazy Sundays

This morning DH went into work for a couple of hours leaving me to my own devices on a Sunday morning. I was able to finish knitting a scarf for my mother (shhhh don't tell), do some research for my National Board Certification, read a book for pleasure, and even catch an extra 30 minute nap.

Lazy Sundays make me smile.

Free Time

Free time has made me smile all day. DH and I had NOTHING pressing to do all day so we sat around, watched some movies, read books, knitted (me), played Guitar Hero and then we finally ran out to the grocery store. It has been a relaxing, enjoyable day.

Guitar Hero

For only $79.98 today I purchased Guitar Hero which is a game I have long admired. I have already played and enjoyed it- am getting my sister in law to come over tonight for a jam session. Guitar Hero made me smile!

Turkeys

I walked my dogs this morning and about 20 turkeys flew out of my backyard. I couldn't believe that turkeys could fly and that they'd be so bold on a Thanksgiving morning.

Parent-Teacher Conferences

Today what made me smile was parent-teacher conferences.
I teach kindergarten and I had 11 meetings set up between 7:00 am and 10:30 am and I got to tell parents about how their child is doing. There really is no better feeling than making someone else feel proud and happy.

Happiness Is...

I have always thought myself an optimist until lately. Family, medical, work and other pressures have begun to catch up with me and I have noticed that it is tougher and tougher to find my smiles each day.
